David Jones Spring/Summer Launch 2011

On Wednesday 3rd August we got the chance to go and see the David Jones Spring Summer Launch with Miranda Kerr making her return the the Aussie catwalk. To say that she looked incredible, after having a baby only six months ago, would be an understatement. As she walked down the catwalk I was thinking "god some people are just blessed" although I am sure a bit of personal training has helped.
Anyway the night wasn't just about Miranda it was also about the fashion. It was a jammed packed show with my favourite pieces being a red lace Lover Dress and a white Dion Lee dress worn by Miranda to finish the show. To view BWA's coverage of the David Jones parade click here

A special shout out goes out to Lovers and Collaborators and Door 121 for helping us with outfits for the night.
I'm wearing Lovers & Collaborators pleated dress, Seventh Wonderland black crochet swimmers (shhhh) and Zoe Edelman booties. Necklaces and Amethyst ring by Lost Revolution. a new fave jewellery brand of mine.

There's Something About Balloons!

So I admit it I have a bit of an obsession with Balloons. I'm sure it triggers some sort of happy memories from deep within, all the colours and the thought that if I blew up so many I would be able to fly away.
After noticing various fashion campaigns like Motel Rocks, Paper Crown and a Dior perfume campaign I realised I was not the only one with this fascination.
I aslo stumbled across this fab blog dedicated to balloon photos- http://iloveballoons.tumblr.com/.
So if you feel like being inspired by some pretty amazing balloon photography or you just wish to be reminded by some of your own childhood memories, it's definitely worth a look.

Here a few of my fave images below...

Mother & Father

We had the pleasure of visiting the Mother & Father PR showroom earlier this week and it was honestly one of our favourite showings so far.

Here is a little sneak peek of what we saw, more to come over at BWA soon.

Looking Back

So I have taken a bit of a look back over fashion week and I though to myself...who was the most I was impressed with in terms of creativity and flair? The answer would have to be Perth designer Jamie Lee Major who showed in the New Generation 2 parade. Her detailing and use of fabrics to create different textures was incredible....all I wanted to do was have the chance to look at them up close.

The collection name Pollination is a pop of colour, intricate embellishments and glowing prints designed by Jamie herself. The textile's that she uses are either paintings she has done or photos that she has taken and then rendered in photoshop. However she has done it was blown away by her detailing and designs... I will definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

Friday Finals. The last day of RAFW 2011

Here are some style snaps from our final day of this year's RAFW! It was amazing, stressful, incredible, stressful, awesome, stressful, inspiring and tiring, but above all it was a complete BLAST! Cheers to RAFW 2011 and the BWA team for making it out alive with a hefty number of articles in tow. Here's to the next one!

Introductions... Pip x

Hello Hello Hello

It's me Pip Marketing Manager at BWA! I am the one that you don't see many posts from but you do all tend to love all the comps and giveaways that go up so I promise to keep them coming....also maybe the odd post or two.

So day 4 of Rosemount Australian Fashion Week is coming to an end and I am still trying to over come how amazing Alistair Trung was, many a moments were had with too many outfits!
Other highlights of the week for me so far Magdalena Velevska with her perfect knife pleating and detailed plaited hair. Also Stolen Girlfriend club for giving me something different other than colour blocking and sheer drape shirt dresses.

Magdealena Velevska

So as awkward as I am getting my picture taken here are my outfits so far for the week.... minus day 1 as a chocolate croissant accident in the media room left me hiding the front of me for the rest of the day :(

Outfit: Mr Johnny Lace Top, Cameo Skirt, Nicola Finetti Ankle Boots, Tiffany & Co Lock Necklace

Outfit: Manning Cartell Skirt, Zambesi Tassle Top, Josh Goot Jacket, Miss Serfridge Booties.

So that's it from me for now, time to get some shut eye.
