A Night Of Wishing I Was Miranda Kerr....

As Pip has told you, we were invited to the inaugural David Jones Summer Launch for 2011 which is a pretty big deal for us and indicative of how far BWA has come!

(there is so much to come cant wait to tell you all)

Anyways my highlights from the show were most DEFINITELY seeing Miranda Kerr strut her fine self down the runway. If I could look that good after giving birth I would sacrifice my fave Alexander Wang bag to Vinnies.

Ok so I totes would not do that. But you get my drift.

Despite my love of Miranda Kerr who you can peep in Pip's post and over at BWA, I actually also harbor a girl crush for Sam Harris, see above.

I think her beauty is that which girls find incredible and boys sometimes find hard to understand.

Anyways, my outfit for the evening was supplied by the amazing team at Door121.

What I wore:

Lovers and Collaborators Skirt, Steele Sheer Blouse, ASOS Boots and Cuff, Alexander Wang Bag.

David Jones Spring/Summer Launch 2011

On Wednesday 3rd August we got the chance to go and see the David Jones Spring Summer Launch with Miranda Kerr making her return the the Aussie catwalk. To say that she looked incredible, after having a baby only six months ago, would be an understatement. As she walked down the catwalk I was thinking "god some people are just blessed" although I am sure a bit of personal training has helped.
Anyway the night wasn't just about Miranda it was also about the fashion. It was a jammed packed show with my favourite pieces being a red lace Lover Dress and a white Dion Lee dress worn by Miranda to finish the show. To view BWA's coverage of the David Jones parade click here

A special shout out goes out to Lovers and Collaborators and Door 121 for helping us with outfits for the night.
I'm wearing Lovers & Collaborators pleated dress, Seventh Wonderland black crochet swimmers (shhhh) and Zoe Edelman booties. Necklaces and Amethyst ring by Lost Revolution. a new fave jewellery brand of mine.

There's Something About Balloons!

So I admit it I have a bit of an obsession with Balloons. I'm sure it triggers some sort of happy memories from deep within, all the colours and the thought that if I blew up so many I would be able to fly away.
After noticing various fashion campaigns like Motel Rocks, Paper Crown and a Dior perfume campaign I realised I was not the only one with this fascination.
I aslo stumbled across this fab blog dedicated to balloon photos- http://iloveballoons.tumblr.com/.
So if you feel like being inspired by some pretty amazing balloon photography or you just wish to be reminded by some of your own childhood memories, it's definitely worth a look.

Here a few of my fave images below...

Asian Beauty

Being half Asian myself it is always nice to see the beauty industry diversifying (although this particular spread is from Vogue China).

To begin with I already have a bit of a crush on Liu Wen but this shoot makes me long for the sun on my face again!

Mother & Father

We had the pleasure of visiting the Mother & Father PR showroom earlier this week and it was honestly one of our favourite showings so far.

Here is a little sneak peek of what we saw, more to come over at BWA soon.

Ballet

Some amazing images from London based photographer Jan Masny, in keeping with my lifelong love of dance and the fashion worlds current obsession with ballet....

goot head to toe

Josh Goot is probably one of my all time fave Australian designers, his cuts and aesthetic just work perfectly with  my style (I mean, whos style doesn't work with Goot??).

This outfit was on Day 4 of RAFW and is head to toe Josh Goot, standard A Wang bag, Prada sunglasses and Rubi booties that I picked up for a right ol' bargain.

I realise it seems that over-exposure seems have been my best friend for the week (a week of RAFW does leave a gal with a few bags under the eyes) so please forgive me for favoring the ghostly pigmentation- my vanity won the battle.

P.S Ignore the unsightly delegate pass

aaaaaaaaaaaanddd a blooper from me to you

Christian Louboutin....drool....

The Audrey's took a little trip to the NAC showroom to have a peep at the upcoming Christian Louboutin collection to hit the boutique in the city soon. Can I just say...droool. Keep an eye out for more photos over at BWA

In the meantime feast your eyes ladies.

Looking Back

So I have taken a bit of a look back over fashion week and I though to myself...who was the most I was impressed with in terms of creativity and flair? The answer would have to be Perth designer Jamie Lee Major who showed in the New Generation 2 parade. Her detailing and use of fabrics to create different textures was incredible....all I wanted to do was have the chance to look at them up close.

The collection name Pollination is a pop of colour, intricate embellishments and glowing prints designed by Jamie herself. The textile's that she uses are either paintings she has done or photos that she has taken and then rendered in photoshop. However she has done it was blown away by her detailing and designs... I will definitely be keeping my eye on this one.

Animal House

Aren't these photos amazing! I have been getting into the new Attenborough series Madagascar which has reignited my love of editorials featuring animals and models.
